SG-1 Squad bay

[Dahra Corley]

Dahra walked from the med-bay to SG-1's own personal room, stopping an airman on the way.

"I'd like you go to 2nd Lieutenant Thompson and David Webbster's quarters, and tell them to go to the SG-1 squad bay ASAP. If they're not in, leave a message on the door."

When he arrived, he took out his kit, and began checking it over, starting by stripping down his rifle, while he waited for the others to arrive.

[David Webbster]

((I'll try being in two places at once, since I'm still not officialy at the briefing.))

David walked into the bay.

"You called for me Dahra?"

[Dahra Corley]

Dahra looked up.

"Yeah, I've called our new medic down, too. General Kavik told me SG-1 will be on a new mission shortly, so I thought we should have a meeting. The thing is, I also heard the call for engineers and linguists. Stick around and meet Ms Thompson at least - meantime, I'll see what the general says. If I can get some reserve airmen on the team, you have my permission to go."

[David Webbster]

David shrugged.

"Personally I'd rather stick with the team. I've had enough of alien technology to last me quite a while. I'm sure if there's anything only I can translate it'll wait until we get back from the mission."

[Dahra Corley]

"It would be good to have you along then doctor, since Captain Wilson will most definitely be going on whatever this mission is. I don't really want to start over from scratch. So now we just wait for our medic..."

[David Webbster]

"Medic? Do you mean Blueflame?"

[Dahra Corley]

"No - Major Blueflame has been transferred to the base staff, I don't know why. We've been assigned one Kansas Thompson, 2nd Lieutenant. I met her in the med bay, she should be on her way here now."

[Kansas Thompson]

Kansas walked in through the door right at that momment. She saluted Colonel Corley before looking at the others, none of them whom she met before.

[David Webbster]

"Thompson eh? Can't say I've met him. I wonder how many wizard of oz jokes I can get in." David was interupted by Kansas's arrival. "Riiiight." He suddenly remembered Dahra's phrasing before. "I should have seen that coming." He looked over at his CO. "Should I get attached to this medic or will we be trading her in too?" He laughed to himself then turned back to Kansas, holding out his hand. "I'm David, at least today I am."

[Kansas Thompson]

She smiled and shook his hand, "At least today? Well you don't have multiple personalilties ,do you?" She said, casting him a curious look.

[David Webbster]

David grinned as he shook his head and withdrew his hand. "Not since yesterday. Even then I'm not sure it counted as a multiple personality we each had our own bodies, they were just merged. Bah! Just read the mission report." David sighed and scratched at the stubble he had grown, realising that he hadn't had shaved since he left on his second mission a few days ago. "Oh, and um... w-w-welcome to the team."

[Dahra Corley]

Dahra laughed as David spoke, imagining how confused Kansas must be by David's obscure comments.

"You better get used to that sort of comment - it makes about as much sense as our first mission did, and I'm sure things won't get much more comprehensible. " he paused. "OK, I called you both down here so we could meet as a team before our next mission, which I bleieve will begin shortly. Captain Wilson won't be joining us this time, as you already know David, because of the call for engineers, so we may be taking one of the other freshmen out, but I don't know yet. Until then, though, we've got some time to get to know each other. And yeah David, I'm hoping Lieutenant Thompson will be with us for the foreseeable future. I don't want to have to try and give you first aid, then carry you back to base, again." he smiled.

"Oh, before I forget," he added, looking at Kansas, "Your gear is in the locker over there; you might want to check it out before we go. I don't know if you want to take the whole lot, or pick out your own stuff, so it's up to you. Same goes with the weapons."

[David Webbster]

"Don't worry, getting struck by lightning again comes very low on my list of priorities." David started rubbing his face again. "And if we're taking out yet another new guy doesn't that make me the... second most experienced member of the team? I have to admit, I'm a little scared that we're all going to die."

[Kansas Thompson]

"Fear of death is natural, David," She said shortly as she pushed her hair away from her eyes, before turning and heading toward her locker.

David shruged. "I guess humor doesn't have high enough security clearance to get onto this base." He muttered to himself.
